Come crisp winter days, give in to that warm, fuzzy feeling during Christmas in Bruges. The pretty medieval city takes on fairytale airs as the temperatures drop. The intoxicating scent of fresh waffles lingers in Bruges Christmas market, and the streets are dressed like gingerbread houses with festive fairy lights reflected in the canal. Hop on a horse-drawn carriage for a snow-dusted tour of the cobbles, or linger in one of Europe’s most charming Christmas markets.

A wonderful winter experience – that’s what Winter Glow is all about. A winter festival packed with fascinating experiences, sparkle-filled special moments including a new Light experience trail, ice skating with unique decor on the Minnewater (Lake of love), a cosy winter bar, two Christmas markets, shopping fun during the many shopping days and a lovely walking trail to wander through the historic centre with its beautiful atmospheric lighting and Christmas decorations

Bruges Christmas market is usually open from around November 25 to some days into January each year, with a short pause on December 25th.

The entrance is free to all, except there’s a small fee for those who would like to enjoy ice-skating on the ice rink.

Belgium, famous for its food, will also offer several different treats to visitors, starting with warm waffles and a hot chocolate that will definitely warm everyone up.
